STUDENTS’ AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

The Students’ Affairs Committee of Surendranath Law College (SAC of SNLC) has been constituted of the students, for the students, by the students and professors. The role, objectives and duties of SAC of SNLC are as follows:

ROLE

The Students’ Affairs Committee of Surendranath Law College (SAC of SNLC) is responsible for promoting student welfare, supporting holistic development, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. It acts as a bridge between students and the institution’s administration on non-academic matters.

OBJECTIVES
  • To safeguard and promote students’ welfare and well-being.
  • To support students’ personal, social, cultural, and leadership development.
  • To encourage student participation in institutional life and decision-making.
  • To maintain discipline while upholding students’ rights and responsibilities.
  • To foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive campus environment.

DUTIES / FUNCTIONS

  • Student Welfare Committee addresses student concerns, grievances, and welfare issues.
  • Support guidance, counselling, and mentorship initiatives.
  • Promote mental health, safety, and well-being programs.
  • Discipline & Conduct Develop, review, and enforce codes of conduct.
  • Handle disciplinary cases fairly and transparently.
  • Promote positive behavior and conflict resolution.
  • Student Activities & Engagement Plan, coordinate, and supervise co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
  • Support student clubs, societies, and associations.
  • Encourage leadership development and civic responsibility.
  • Communication & Representation Serve as a liaison between students and management.
  • Facilitate student feedback and participation in policy matters.
  • Work with student councils or representatives.
  • Inclusivity & Support Services.
  • Promote equal opportunities and inclusion for all students.
  • Support students with special needs or at-risk students.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory policies.

  • Recommend improvements to student-related policies and services.
  • Monitor and evaluate student support programs.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative units.
